Slow sinks, blocked wastes and drainage

- Blocked waste pipe enquiries
- Drain cleaning
- Drainage repairs and advice
What might it cost?
Clear a simple accessible blockage
£60–£110estimated labour only
A minor blockage that can be cleared with straightforward manual methods. Any replacement parts cost separately. Jetting, CCTV surveys, excavation and specialist drainage work are outside this example.
These are guide prices, not a fixed quote or a maximum charge. Access, the condition of the fittings and the work needed can change the cost. I’ll agree the price with you before starting.
Only a small fix? Many of my quick repairs cost £55–£85 for labour, plus replacement parts. You don’t need to book a bigger job.
Get a quote for my jobOne slow sink or several affected fittings?
One basin that empties slowly can point to a different problem from several fittings backing up together. I’ll ask what’s affected, how long it’s been happening and whether it clears briefly before returning.
I offer drain cleaning and drainage repairs. If the same blockage keeps returning, I’ll discuss whether it needs further investigation before trying to clear it again.
You do not need to know the name of every pipe. Describing what happens when you use the sink, basin or toilet is a useful starting point.
Discussing the right drainage job
Before I visit, I’ll ask whether the problem is indoors or outside, if there’s a visible leak and what’s already been tried. Please mention any cleaning products you’ve used, as that affects how I approach the job.
A blockage can occur alongside a damaged fitting or pipe. I’ll consider the condition of the waste pipework and access, then explain whether cleaning, a repair or another drainage specialist is the next step.
CCTV surveys, high-pressure jetting and excavation need specialist drainage equipment. If those are needed, we’ll discuss involving another contractor before arranging the work.
Booking drainage help locally
For a free quote, I’ll need your postcode and a description of what’s backing up. If it’s at business premises, we can agree access arrangements too. I’ll explain whether I need to assess the pipework before pricing the job.
I mainly work in Weston-super-Mare, with visits across Banwell, Cheddar, Nailsea, Backwell and Clevedon. My hours are Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm. For an urgent problem, call to check availability; I don’t run a 24-hour emergency service.
If the waste pipe also leaks, read about kitchen waste pipe repairs and mention both problems when you call.
Drain cleaning & repairs: your questions
Can I call about just one slow-draining sink?
Yes. Small jobs are my speciality. I’ll check whether it’s just that sink or whether other fittings are affected too.
Do you offer drain cleaning for businesses?
Yes, I work in homes and business premises. We can discuss the drainage problem and access arrangements when you request a quote.
What if the blockage keeps coming back?
I’ll ask how often it returns and what’s been tried. That helps me work out whether to investigate the pipework or involve a drainage specialist.
Do you provide CCTV surveys or drain jetting?
These need specialist equipment. I’ll discuss the problem with you first and explain whether it needs another contractor.
