Flush, cistern and toilet leak repairs
- Toilet flush mechanisms and cistern parts
- Continuously running toilets
- Leaking toilet connections
- Replacement toilet installations
What might it cost?
Replace a standard toilet
£180–£330estimated labour only
A like-for-like replacement using the existing water and waste positions. The toilet and fitting kit cost separately. Concealed cisterns, moving pipework and making good are quoted separately.
These are guide prices, not a fixed quote or a maximum charge. Access, the condition of the fittings and the work needed can change the cost. I’ll agree the price with you before starting.
Only a small fix? Many of my quick repairs cost £55–£85 for labour, plus replacement parts. You don’t need to book a bigger job.

Water running into the pan after a flush can point to a problem with the cistern mechanism or a seal. Slow filling or a persistent noise needs a different check. I’ll ask what you can hear and whether the toilet still flushes.
Many toilet faults can be sorted with a replacement part. I’ll check the flush mechanism, inlet valve and other cistern fittings to work out what needs attention. The options depend on which parts fit and whether they’re available.
One noisy loo is plenty of reason to call. Small toilet repairs are part of my everyday work.
Toilet leaks and replacement toilets
Water around the toilet can come from several places. I’ll check its source before recommending a repair. Whether it appears after flushing, while the cistern fills or all the time helps me narrow it down.
For a replacement toilet, the existing water and waste connections, available space and access all need consideration. If you have chosen a new toilet, share the product details before buying or booking the work. Mention any concealed cistern or boxed-in pipework.
Arranging your toilet repair
When you book, I’ll need your postcode and a brief description of the fault. The make or model is useful if you know it. If it’s your only toilet, please say so when we discuss availability.
I offer free, no-obligation quotes for repairs and installations. A visit can include other small bathroom jobs if I know about them when booking. I work Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, and will confirm the next available appointment when you call.
If the issue is water backing up rather than the flush mechanism, read about drainage and blockages and explain which fittings are affected.
Toilet repairs & installations: your questions
Do I need a new toilet if it will not flush?
Not necessarily. I may be able to repair or replace the flush mechanism or another cistern part. I’ll check the fault before suggesting a new toilet.
Do you take on a single toilet repair?
Yes. A leaking toilet or a flush that’s stopped working is exactly the sort of small job I take on.
Can you fit a toilet I have already bought?
I can check the model against your current toilet’s connections and available space. We’ll agree what the installation involves before arranging a visit.
Can you come out today?
Call and I’ll check my availability, especially if it’s your only toilet. I work Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm. I can’t guarantee a same-day visit and don’t offer a 24-hour service.
