Kitchen and bathroom tap repairs
- Dripping tap repairs and replacement washers
- Kitchen and bathroom tap replacements
- Kitchen sink and basin installations
- Leaking connections and waste fittings
What might it cost?
Replace one standard tap
£90–£165estimated labour only
A straightforward kitchen or basin tap swap with accessible connections. The new tap and any extra fittings cost separately; bath taps and boiling-water taps need their own quote.
These are guide prices, not a fixed quote or a maximum charge. Access, the condition of the fittings and the work needed can change the cost. I’ll agree the price with you before starting.
Only a small fix? Many of my quick repairs cost £55–£85 for labour, plus replacement parts. You don’t need to book a bigger job.

A tap that drips after you turn it off does not always need replacing. A washer, seal or cartridge may be the part that needs attention. The right repair depends on the type of tap, its condition and whether a suitable replacement part is available.
A drip from the spout can need a different fix from water around the base or underneath. Stiff handles and loose fittings also give me clues, as does a problem that only happens with hot or cold water.
If the tap is worn out or you fancy a different one, I can replace it. You don’t need to wait until you’re redoing the kitchen. That drip has already had enough of your attention.
Choosing a replacement tap
A new tap needs to suit the sink or basin and the existing water supply. The number of tap holes, the space around the fitting and the connections underneath all matter. A tap that looks right in a picture may still need a closer look before it can be fitted.
You’re welcome to supply your own tap. I can check the make and model or a product link with you before you order. Already bought it? Keep the packaging and supplied fittings together for the visit.
Getting a quote for your tap job
For a free quote, I’ll need your postcode and a brief description of the problem. You don’t have to decide between a repair and replacement beforehand. I’ll explain the options, including whether I need to see the fitting before pricing the work.
I specialise in small jobs for homes and businesses in Weston-super-Mare. If another tap or sink connection needs attention too, I can plan for both at the same visit.
If the job includes a sink or its waste pipes, see the kitchen plumbing service for the other fittings I can help with.
Tap repairs & replacements: your questions
Can a dripping mixer tap be repaired?
A replacement cartridge or seal may be enough. I’ll check the tap’s condition and whether suitable parts are available before recommending a repair.
Can I supply my own tap?
Yes. I can check whether your chosen model suits the sink or basin and existing connections before the visit.
Do you replace bathroom taps as well as kitchen taps?
Yes, I repair and replace both kitchen and bathroom taps. One tap is enough to book a job.
How much does a tap replacement cost?
As a guide, replacing one standard kitchen or basin tap costs £90–£165 for labour, plus the tap and any extra fittings. I don’t add VAT. Access and changes to the pipework can affect the price, so I’ll confirm your quote before work starts.
