- Plumbing leak investigation
- Leaking pipe joints and fittings
- Repairs beneath sinks and basins
- Replacement sections of pipework
What might it cost?
Repair an accessible pipe leak
£90–£165estimated labour only
One visible, accessible section of pipe with the leak already located. Parts cost separately. Tracing a hidden leak, opening walls or floors and restoring finishes are outside this example.
These are guide prices, not a fixed quote or a maximum charge. Access, the condition of the fittings and the work needed can change the cost. I’ll agree the price with you before starting.
Only a small fix? Many of my quick repairs cost £55–£85 for labour, plus replacement parts. You don’t need to book a bigger job.
Get a quote for my jobFinding where the plumbing leak starts
The place where you notice water is not always where the leak begins. A drip can travel along a pipe or collect beneath a fitting before you see it. I investigate plumbing leaks to find which connection or section of pipework needs attention.
Useful details include whether the water appears continuously, when a tap runs or after a sink empties. Mention any recent fitting replacement and whether you can see the pipework. You do not need to diagnose it yourself: “there is water in the cupboard” is enough to start the conversation.
Access affects what I can check. If the pipe is hidden behind a panel, under a floor or inside a wall, we’ll need to discuss how to reach it before work starts.
Repairing the connection or pipe
A repair may involve a joint, a waste fitting or a section of pipe. The approach depends on the source of the leak, the pipe material and the condition of the surrounding fittings. I’ll explain the repair options once I’ve assessed the problem.
A leak beneath a sink can come from the water supply or from the waste pipe. Mentioning when it happens helps distinguish the two. If the sink also drains slowly, raise that when you call so both symptoms can be considered.
Arranging a leak repair in Weston-super-Mare
If water is actively leaking, call so I can check my availability. I’ll ask where you are, what damage you can see and how easily I can reach the affected area. From there, I can explain what’s needed for a quote.
I carry out small plumbing repairs in homes and business premises, Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm. I don’t monitor callback requests as an emergency service, so please call if you need help with an active leak.
For a leak specifically around the toilet, the toilet repairs page explains what to mention about the cistern and flush.
Leaks & pipe repairs: your questions
Can you investigate a leak under my sink?
Yes. I can check the water supply connections and waste pipework. When the water appears helps me narrow down the source before I visit.
Do you repair small pipe leaks?
Yes. I repair leaking joints and fittings, and replace damaged sections of pipework.
Can you find a pipe leak hidden behind a wall?
It depends on the location and access. I’ll discuss what I can investigate, how the pipe can be reached and whether specialist equipment or another tradesperson is needed before booking.
Do you provide a 24-hour emergency service?
No. I work Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm. For an active leak, call to check when I can help. A callback request doesn’t book an emergency visit.
