Repairing a fitting you would rather keep
A faulty tap or flush does not automatically mean replacing the whole fitting. I’ll look at its condition and check whether a suitable cartridge, valve or seal is available. If a repair makes sense, we can discuss that before you spend money on a replacement. If the fitting is worn out, I’ll explain what changing it involves.
For a job in Cheddar, start with your postcode and what the fitting is doing. A tap that drips from the spout is different from water collecting underneath the sink. With a toilet, it helps to know whether it keeps running, fills slowly or refuses to flush. The make and model are useful if you know them, but you do not need to identify the faulty part.
Many of my small repairs cost £55–£85 for labour, with replacement parts extra. I don’t add VAT. A larger repair or installation needs more time, so I’ll confirm the scope and price before work begins. You can find examples on my service pages or call for a free, no-obligation quote. I visit homes and businesses during my Monday-to-Friday working hours, 8am–5pm.
Before you call
- Keep any model details or fitting paperwork handy.
- Mention if the toilet is the only one in the property.
- Include other small repairs when you enquire so I can plan the visit.
